Tensioned fabric membrane and structural frame
The complete solution was conceived, designed, engineered and installed within four months. Feasibility studies were undertaken to understand design options, structural challenges, cost and time.
The result is an efficient saddle span arch system stabilized onto a structural ballast raft with an incredible reflective copper colored membrane tensioned between two arches. Exposed to withstand full typhoon conditions, the structural system was carefully studied, fabricated and installed over a period of three weeks.
As time was short, the full production team worked in alternating day and night shifts, the stage and set built in under while the structure was installed over the top.
